Aric Brennan is a whisperer – a perfectly engineered human/alien hybrid, designed specifically to charm and seduce. When Lucy is stalked by his unearthly creators, she has no choice but to trust him to help her navigate a way through a horrifying reality – a reality filled with creatures which should really only exist in nightmares.

My Thoughts:

Swwt, stereotypical alien story. The story revolves around Lucy and Aric, the new guy working on her uncle’s farm. What I liked most about this book was the farm life, and the way the characters use their abilities, or I guess the way Aric sometimes didn’t use his abilities.

I found Lucy’s use of wyk (I hope I got it right) energy very interesting and believable.

There were some interesting twists and turns in this novel, like Aric’s affiliations and such, but overall the book centered around small town life, crazy government officials, and then traditional aliens.

By traditional I mean the Gray, the ones we’re used to from X-Files and Paul. (That was one of my favorite movies btw)

Campbell weaves a story that’s both entertaining, heartfelt, and scary. I was afraid for Lucy and Aric and what might happen to them.

Overall I believed in the characters, loved Aric’s personality, the supporting characters gave the story substance and I can’t wait to see more from Campbell!

If you haven’t picked this one up yet, you need to go get it.

Have a good one everyone! My brain is mush for the rest of the weekend!
