The Blurb: Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.
The Short Stick: A really fun, light, and fast paced paranormal book.
The Goods: This book has it all, cheesy vamps and slick faeries. Evie isn’t your usual girl but she’s also the most skeptical girl I’ve met. LOVE the pink taser! I found the book funny as hell, another up the alley of Rachel Hawkins where Kiersten White takes the paranormal and puts a hilarious spin on it.
The Not So Goods: I can’t think of anything, honestly. If you’re into the satirical feel of the book then you’ll be into the romance, you’ll be into Evie loving her soap operas and Reth the very stereotypical hot, bad faery guy.
Pinocchio Factor: They were stereotypical but it’s okay, it’s that type of book.
Bella Swan Factor: Um, no sparkly vamps here, just ones who buy their costumes at wal-mart.
Jace Factor: I’ll give Lend props for being good looking, but he’s no hottie.
Primrose Factor: Nope, didn’t lose anyone important.
Bible Factor: Um . . . no.
Cheese Factor: There was lots of it.
Temperature: 60 degrees, like Evie said, paranormals = not a lot of romantic action, just enough of it really.
Recommendation: Read it if you’re into the satirical side of things!
