Madly is your average nearly-eighteen year old girl—for a mermaid princess, that is.
I LOVED IT. I wasn’t sure what to expect with M. Leighton being Indie, but let me tell you, the writing was fantastic, the story line was original, the characters were believable, and everything about this book made me want more.
I’m truly looking forward to the sequel for this book because it was like a breath of fresh air.
Madly James is your average girl for a mermaid. She goes to school in Slumber, but lives right by the ocean. She has school with regular people, people who don’t know about mermaids, and that’s okay. She’s got her best friend Aiden and Jersey with her, also mermaids, and Sentinel Jackson who’s there to protect her and everyone else at the school. Okay well mostly Madly because she’s a princess and her parents are underwater.
The thing is, some ancient evils have gotten loose and are currently holding her home under lock down. Madly is the only one who can capture the ancient evil, which happens to be remnant of the Big Bad Wolf.
Madly is forced to find a descendant of Little Red Riding Hood, and well things get kind of messed up by the end of it all but the ride is amazing.
My favorite character was Jackson, man you can taste the sexual tension in the air when this guy is around. He’s a bit older, and he claims he feels nothing for Madly, but let’s face it, we all know he does just by the things he says and does in the book. It’s interesting watching him try not to be into the princess when she’s supposed to be betrothed to Aiden.
It’s a hot romance. A hot, very done right kind of romance, mixed with a mystery, a fairy tale, and mermaids.
I only have one question: why are you still reading this review instead of looking it up on Amazon?
