The Blurb: For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her…until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
My Thoughts: I bought this book at a Safeway in 2009. I picked it up on a whim a couple of weeks after pouring through the Twilight series. At the time I just wanted something different, something else to read since I had only read non fiction books for the past three years.
Sometimes I wish I was joking about the fact that between 2006 and 2009 I read around 50 non fiction books on metaphysics, eco psychology, spirituality, witchcraft, ancient cultures, and personology.
Hush Hush was a book I gushed about. It was so much better than Twilight. I soared through the pages, drunk in every sexy scene with Patch, was scared with Nora and ultimately, loved, loved, loved it.
I loved it so much I’m pretty sure I did an impromptu psychic reading for Ms. Fitzpatrick, to which I got a standard two line response. Ehh maybe that part was a bad idea.
But this book had everything I liked in it. A really sexy bad boy, a damsel in distress, mystery, romance, the imperfect best friend, the mexican restaurant, and of course the mean girl at school. All of it made for an amazing beginning to a series.
Anyway, if you haven’t picked up on the Hush Hush Series yet, I recommend that you do, because you won’t regret it. There are three books already out that you can devour with I believe a fourth on the way.
