About the book:

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much.

My Thoughts:

I really liked Alex in the prequel to this book. She’s a hard hitting fierce female character that literally flies off the pages at you. It’s tough to watch her become part of the Convenant because of what happened to her mother, but then, she’s already got something going for her, she’s killed Daimons before.

That only helps her a bit though when it comes to the Covenant and all of these other kids that knew they wanted to be Sentinals at birth. Alex’s mother tried to shield her from this life and therefore, Alex doesn’t act the way she’s expected to.

Throughout most of the book I felt like I was waiting for something more to happen. I wanted Aiden to make a mistake with her, I wanted Seth to do something more, but then, the connection he has with Alex is a little freaky to say the least.

I guess the truth is that this book has a lot of potential. It was a fun read, with a lot of action, longing, and tough love. I recommend it for people who want a read that’s fast paced.

Give this series a try, you won’t soon regret it!
