REVIEW: Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton

Angelfire (Angelfire - Trilogy)

Good morning!

I’m changing up my reviewing style just a tad here and I hope it works out!

The Blurb: When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers – monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell – she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen

The Short Stick: Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, saw the movie.

The Goods: The writing is decent, the supporting characters all play their part, there’s a lot of action, monsters to fight, bad guys to avoid in all shapes and sizes, tense romance scenes, and even some funny and humorous scenes.

The Not So Goods: Characters needed some work. I found that they weren’t always acting their age. I also felt like there was some believability that didn’t happen for me. And then back to the immaturity soap box for me. I wanted more than what I got from these characters.

Rating: 3/5

Other things:
Pinnochio Factor: Fail, they’re not real boys yet.
Bella Swan Factor: Pass, nothing like her!
Jace Factor: Pass, one hot boy is in attendance!
Primrose Factor: Pass, we didn’t lose too much in this book.
Potter Factor: Fail, we’ve been here before, not original enough.
Cheese Factor: Fail, there were some definite moments.
Bible Factor: Fail, way too many references.
Temperature: 86 degrees, not quite hot enough.

Recommendation: Pick this one up if you haven’t had enough of the angel craze. Skip it if you’ve already read Becca Fitzpatrick.
